Sheila Murray serves as the Diocese of Greensburg Chief Financial Officer. In this capacity Mrs. Murray is responsible for the business services of the Diocese, including finance, development, information technology, conference center, and facilities management. She is also responsible for managing diocesan investments, including two pension plans, endowments, parish deposit and loan fund, and operational short-term investments. She serves as a Trustee for the Catholic Institute of the Diocese of Greensburg, and is a member of the Management Team for the Diocesan Finance Council and the Catholic Foundation boards.
Mrs. Murray’s career encompasses over three decades of service to non-profit organizations in various capacities. Immediately prior to being appointed as Chief Financial Officer in December 2010, she was the Director for Financial Operations at the Diocese of Greensburg since 1996. Prior to joining the Diocese, Mrs. Murray served as Controller at Goodwill Industries of Southwestern Pennsylvania, and Senior Auditor for Maher Duessel, CPAs, where the majority of her clients were not-for-profit entities. She was also Director of Finance/Treasurer for the Municipality of Murrysville.
Mrs. Murray holds an M.B.A from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. She is licensed to practice accounting from the State of Pennsylvania since 1994, is a member of the AICPA and PICPA, and is also a Certified Diocesan Fiscal Manager. She spends her free time volunteering for her parish, Blessed Sacrament Cathedral.
