James W. Evans, Jr. is a Principal Consultant at Albert Risk Management Consultants, an independent advisory firm outside Boston, MA. He directs both the firm’s institutional and alternative risk financing/captive insurance practices. Mr. Evans has been active in assisting many Archdioceses and Dioceses since 1981.
Mr. Evans has been directly involved in the Archdiocese of New York’s risk financing efforts, including the formation and operation of Catholic Indemnity Insurance Company, a single parent captive domiciled in Vermont in 2006. He has also consulted for Catholic Umbrella Pool, a collaborative diocesan risk and its captive CUP Re. Mr. Evans has assisted three other Archdioceses in forming single parent captives as well.
Mr. Evans received an A.B in English and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Boston College. He also holds the Associate in Risk Management designation. He is a member of the Vermont Captive Insurance Association and has spoken at its annual conference on captive insurance in the religious sector.
