Joseph Braddock, CPA, CGMA was first appointed as the Chief Financial Officer of the Diocese of Jefferson City in 2004. Prior to that he served for ten years as the Chief Accountant for the Division of Compliance for the State of Missouri, Department of Revenue and five years as a Manager of Data Processing for the Division of Taxation and Collection for the State of Missouri, Department of Revenue. He also has worked in the banking industry and owned and operated a small business. His experiences include accounting, auditing, finance, data processing and business process engineering. He holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Business Administration and in Accounting. He received his license to practice accounting from the State of Missouri in 1989 and is a member of the AICPA and MSCPA.
On September 22, 1996, the Feast of St. Matthew, Joe was ordained as a permanent deacon for the Diocese of Jefferson City. The late Bishop Michael McAuliffe often quipped “If it was good enough for Jesus to have a tax collector on His staff, it was good enough for him!” Joe has served as a permanent deacon at the Cathedral of St. Joseph for 22 years.
Joe has assisted with many local not-for-profit entities and charities in the Central Missouri area. In addition to his role of CFO, he also serves on the USCCB Accounting Practices Board. He and his wife Charlotte have two sons and one granddaughter. They recently moved to Columbia, Missouri.
